About Speaker
Dr. Farah bte Samsu Rahman is a leading occupational therapist with deep expertise in supporting children and adolescents with special needs. She holds a PhD in Occupational Therapy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a MSc in Occupational Therapy from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, and both Bachelor’s and Diploma qualifications in Occupational Therapy from Universiti Teknologi MARA.
Dr. Farah is certified in Sensory Integration by Western Psychological Services/University of Southern California and in Good Clinical Practice by the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She is currently completing her Certificate in Ayres Sensory Integrationâ (ASI) through the Collaborative for Leadership in ASI and is credentialed as a specialized procedure assessor in children and adolescents’ mental health rehabilitation.
She has built her clinical career across both local and international settings, working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, sensory processing challenges, mental health concerns, and a range of developmental conditions. She currently serves as the Occupational Therapy Services Coordinator for the Kota Setar district and the state of Kedah, and leads the Occupational Therapy Unit at Klinik Kesihatan Bandar Alor Setar.
Dr. Farah is also active in professional development and policy work, serving as a part time lecturer at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, advisor to an occupational therapy centre, and group leader for the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s standard operating procedure development for autism spectrum disorder.
Her research interests include sensory integration, developmental disorders, family centred practices, and children and adolescents’ mental health rehabilitation. She is committed to advancing occupational therapy through meaningful intervention, collaboration, and inclusive care.
