About Speaker
Dr Hassan Kadous is a health professional passionate about system transformation and health system equity now and for the future. He studied Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy at Sydney University and has completed a Doctorate of Health Business Administration focusing on the needs of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities. Dr Kadous has spent the last decade and a half working in a number of clinical, senior clinical, management, operations, strategy and strategic foresight positions across health districts and across the state.
Dr Kadous’s career highlights includes leading the New South Wales (NSW) Ministry of Health Statewide Airport response during COVID at the State Health Emergency Operations Centre. Most recently, Dr Kadous led the Allied Health Portfolio at the New South Wales (NSW) Ministry of Health Workforce Planning and Talent Development Branch for 6 years, focusing on the increasing role of the allied health workforce and developed a number of impactful workforce reform and transformation programs. This included a $34 million funding grant from New South Wales (NSW) Ministry of Health Government to pilot innovative allied health workforce models. He is now the Manager of the Future Workforce Strategies Unit, overseeing a team that scans, analyses, informs and empowers the system and leaders to anticipate changes in work, the workplace and the workforce for the future New South Wales (NSW) Ministry of Health system. He recently led the commissioning of landmark research into health megatrends expected to impact New South Wales (NSW) Ministry of Health and the health workforce to 2040.
Dr Kadous continues to hold a small clinical physiotherapy case load at one of Sydney’s busy emergency departments and has a unique position of reporting and working in the system that delivers care to the people of New South Wales (NSW) Ministry of Health.
